Themes I’ve Liked
Requirements:
- Apache, MIT, or similar well-known permissive license
- Minimal dependencies; only use extra projects if they perform a needed function
- Good doc and developer responsiveness to intelligent questions
- Reasonably widely used (so more likely to be supported)
Jekyll
CSS Grids / Frameworks
Slide Decks
- Remark.js (MIT): Allows writing pure markdown slides; what I use now
- Reveal.js (MIT): has slides.com editor (freemium)
Styles, Fonts, Colors, Images
Images
- Unsplash (CC0): are high quality slightly artsy photos, reasonable selection
- Pixabay (CC0): includes some vectors and videos too, plus “sponsored” listings, not as big/artsy as Unsplash but larger selection
- Pexels (CC0): nice UI, large library, re-uses photos from lots of other sites (has ads)
Font Pairings - Google
Google Fonts - widely available and good enough!
